Different Methods To Make Money Online

Online surveys – You get compensated for completing surveys that are sent to you via email.

Online surveys take very little technical knowledge, and the work actually comes to you.

Paid to read emails – Similar to surveys advertisements are sent to you and you get paid to when you click on a link in the email to read the ad on a website.

There typically is no obligation to buy anything to get paid; you will usually see a link on the page to confirm that you have “read” the ad.

What we will be focusing on in this guide are the various forms of Internet marketing explained below.

Affiliate Programs - You send people to a web site. They buy a product or a service, or sign up for something and you are paid a commission.

Affiliate programs are revenue sharing arrangements set up by companies selling products and services. These pay-per-sale or pay-per-lead programs are usually remarkably easy to join.

Although easy to sign up for, affiliate programs usually offer limited training or guidance. They do provide the ads or HTLM code for products that you would need to place on a website, within an email, or within an ad.

Network Marketing – Network marketing is very similar to affiliate marketing. You promote a product or service that earns you a commission when you get someone else to signup.

Network marketing takes on many forms, and is usually a program that you belong to. The program can offer products or services that are beneficial to you; you in turn promote those products or services to others and earn a commission.

Network marking can be very lucrative if done effectively, typically these programs are paid in a tiered-based form similar to, and at times actually are multi-level marketing.

Network marketing programs typically offer some form of training, guidance and support from the program or your sponsor, and the goods ones will offer both.
The pay structure of these programs themselves command that your sponsor and the program help you as it is in their best interest.

Content Rich Information Website – Have you ever wondered why people take so much time to build a great website about a specific topic or theme and provide all the information for free? Well they may not really be doing it for free: look a little closer and you will probably see ads of some type on the site. While they may not be selling or promoting any product or service directly, what they are doing is promoting the site, themselves, their knowledge of the subject matter or a combination of the three.

A website that provides good; in-demand information will get people to flock to it, after all information is what everyone is looking for online. Not only do people like a site that has pages of specific information based around a broader theme or niche, but the search engines also love it. Get the search engines to like your site and they will send traffic to it.

These types of site can have ads on them that, when clicked on, the site owner is paid. This is called pay-per-click or PPC, PPC is something you will be reading a lot more about on your journey into Internet marketing. Some people are making good money by just selling advertising on their content rich, information sites.

Internet Marketing – Internet marketing is the process of promoting any product or service on the Internet. Be it an affiliate product you are promoting for someone else, your own product or service or a network or multi-level marketing program you are a member of.
As you learn more about Internet marketing, you will see it can take on many forms, but it all comes down to one important thing: getting traffic to your website and then converting that traffic into a customer. Traffic is the goal all webmasters strive for. Internet marketing is a numbers game, the more people that visit your site the more chances you have of selling them a product, or of them clicking on one of your ads, signing up for your newsletter or making a purchase.

How I got Scammed Into Internet Marketing

How I got Scammed Into Internet Marketing
http://www.eSmartJob.com

After a miserable day at work, driving hundreds of miles, listening to, and trying to solve problems for everyone that I had no part in creating, I came home, fired up Google and typed in "Work At Home". BAM! Information overload! I signed up for a few lists that I had no idea what they were about and then in a few minutes my phone was ringing.

"Yeah, I asked to receive more information about a work at home opportunity but who are you?" I asked the nice young man on the phone. Turns out he was from a company specializing in helping people start a home business, and he had a great opportunity for me.

For a one-time fee of $300.0 he would set up not one but three websites for me!
"Yes tell me more!" Well he went on to tell me that people with them were making a killing advertising these special websites. It seems they had set up an exclusive, special arrangement with eBay, Amazon and an online casino. All I had to do was advertise my websites, get people to them and when people clicked through to the merchant to buy something I would make a commission!

"Well if it's that easy then what do you need me for?" I asked. It turned out that they couldn't possibly advertise enough on their own and needed people like me to comb all the nooks and crannies of cyberspace to get the word out. They would in turn make a small commission on my efforts as well. The up-front fee was just a gesture on my part to show I was genuinely interested, and of course to pay for getting my special websites ready. Oh, and a small hosting fee of $20 a month for the websites, I mean after all they have servers to maintain and techs to pay.

"Well I don't know much about advertising on the Internet or even where to begin, how would I do it?" This was the best part they would train me! They would put me in touch with my own personal coach, who would teach me all I needed to know! Plus they had even negotiated special advertising rates with online marketing companies, and I could buy page impressions for pennies a day!

I gave him my credit card.

A few days later I got my training package in the mail. The single three-ring binder contained the affiliate agreements from the three merchant accounts. These were obliviously printed straight off the merchant's websites, including the advertising, and navigation links on the crookedly copied pages. The remainder of my training package was five more pages of advertising training. Two of these pages were printed off a classified ads site showing how to place an ad on that particular site. The remaining three pages were lists of free classified ad sites printed straight off a Google search for "free classified ads".

Stuffed inside the front of my training binder were a few pages of information containing my website URL's, and login information to check my commission earnings in the merchants accounts. They actually setup a Hotmail account for me and used that email address to sign me up for these merchant accounts. An email account that I had no access to by they way.

I typed in the URL's to my new websites, and there it was a page with a picture of a jammed parking lot, and the text read, "Don’t fight the crowds shop at home". And in the middle of the page was a little red 'x' where the "Click Here" graphic should have been. It did take a while for me figure out how to get beyond this page since the all important "Click Here" part was missing.

It turns out these special websites were no more than a single page on someone else's domain with my affiliate links attached to it. I had no access to them, I couldn't change them, and I owned nothing but a three-ring binder for $300.00 and $20.00 a month. I called and asked for a refund.

"Sorry no refunds until you give it try for six months after that period of time if you have placed at least one ad a month we will refund you the difference of what you make and what you paid, but the hosting is non refundable". Said the woman of the phone in what I think was English, because I somewhat understood her but just barely. She then asked if I had spoken to my coach about advertising yet. I told here that based on the training manual I got, "that looked like a project from my daughters second grade art glass gone bad", I didn't think coaching was going to improve my situation much. She assured me someone would call me back the next day.

The next day I got a call from an "advertising coach". For $4000.00 I can get 500,000 page impressions in the form of a pop-under. Wow it keeps on getting better and better. "What about the pennies a day I was told about?" It turns out there are marketing venues available that could cost pennies a day but not through them. I then told him how frustrated, disappointed and upset I was over the whole deal. So this nice man told me since there was such a misunderstanding he would, this one time only, only charge me half price for the only advertising package they had available at that time. "Wow only 2 grand huh? I don't think so". I then asked if all I have to do is give you money to advertise these sites and sit aback and make money why don't you just do it yourself? He then told me how money is made by using other peoples money, like an investment, I thought I was talking with Donald Trump there for a minute.

After the lecture in investment and high finance I asked about getting coached in advertising on my own and on the cheap. He informed me that he was part of the "paid advertising" department and that I would need to call the other department for that type of coaching. I called back and made an appointment but to this day have never received that coaching phone call.

I did manage to get through to the manager once on the phone and that amounted to no more than shouting match. This company wasn't making going to make any money on my commissions from eBay, Amazon or the online casino. They can't, those affiliate programs are free to join, as are thousands of others available and they only pay one person per account. They were just scam artists, taking the setup fees and trying to get more for advertising.

I managed to get all charges reversed on my credit card, filed a report with the Better Business Bureau and learned a great lesson. I do own the scumbags one thing though, without this ordeal I would have never learning about Internet marketing like I did by investigating what was happening to me at the time. So be careful out there, and remember the old adage if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Choosing A Domain Name
Copyright © Jeff Houdyschell http://www.eSmartJob.com

After you have decided on your main sites themes or niche its time to determine your domain name. You could chose any domain name and try to build a brand around it like Google has done, or you may want to choose a keyword domain name that relates to your sites niche.

Whether you choose a brandable domain or a keyword domain is a choice you must make, and a choice you should make in accordance with your business plan. If you have a large offline advertising budget and the budget necessary to brand your organization, I'd recommend a brandable domain. If, on the other hand, you're working on a tight budget, choose a keyword domain and let the search engines bring the customers to you.

Choosing A Website Niche

Choosing A Website Niche

So you want to know where to start with an online business? To get the full potential out of any online business you will definitely need a website. When I say website I don't mean a page that some programs give you with your affiliate ID attached to the end of it, but your own domain name and a good provider to host it on. But before we get into domain names and hosting accounts let's start at the beginning with the business idea itself.

You first need to decide what your new website will be focused on, or your niche market. While there are thousands of work at home websites on the Internet, and the competition is well established, you can still find your own little niche within this bigger category that has been overlooked and is less competitive.

Keyword research is crucial to determining your sites theme and the success of your online business. Keywords or keyword phrases are something that you will hear a lot about as you progress and start to develop your website.

Even if your website is a pre-designed Plug-In Profits site It should eventually be optimized toward a more narrow, less competitive niche........

Launching your website, the SEO way

Copyright © Jeff Houdyschell
http://www.eSmartJob.com

Do you have a brand new site? How long will you have to wait before it appears on search engines? The truth is, that it could be several months. If you do nothing, it could be years. We offer a couple of suggestions for getting you started on launch day.
One important thing I should mention is that I assume you have a website that is SEO friendly. If it is completely designed in flash, it is not. If it contains frames, it is not. If it is made up of images, it is not. This will make things a lot harder. I have seen some websites that are beautifully designed in flash or contained within frames that have been invisible on search engines. Even after 3 years, their sites did not appear anywhere. The content of this article actually assumes that you have appropriately designed your website. If not, then I recommend hiring a company to perform an seo assessment or audit to increase your potential.

One of the main things you need is to start building a network of incoming links. We'll tackle relevancy later on but for now, let's focus on ways for getting sites to link to you.
Incoming Links: (external links)Significant links are those who have a Page Rank in excess of 3/10 (as determined by the popularity of a website). Yahoo.com, for example, has a Page Rank of 10/10, which is very valuable. Consider getting additional links to your site by submitting to directories that have a high page rank like Yahoo! (Page Rank - 10), Superpages.com (Page Rank - 8) or Dmoz.org (Page Rank -9) to take advantage of valuable incoming links. Some of these are free, others charge a nominal fee while Yahoo! charges $299 for submission to their directory. A better place to start is http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php where you can find a list of directories, paid and free, that could be valuable to you.

Optimized Press Releases:When launching your website, it's a great idea to prepare a press release to let people know. If you're not planning on doing a full press release, we encourage you to consider an optimized press release online. Often more valuable than regular press releases, those that have been optimized can really boost your visibility online. In addition to the increased visibility, we like to select those services that offer the ability to set anchored links. One of these is PRWebdirect.com. Not only is it important to choose your keywords appropriately, but to set your anchored links to offer greatest value to both the user and your website. Others include:
http://www.prleap.com
http://www.i-newswire.com
http://www.webwire.com
http://www.pressbox.co.uk
http://www.24-7pressrelease.com
http://www.clickpress.com
http://www.przoom.comwww.pr.com
http://www.marketwire.com
http://www.marketwire.com

Some of these are free, others will charge a small submission fee. Another that we have had great success with is www.arrivenet.com. The key is first of all to write the press release, secondly to set the anchored links and the final one is to add tags below the article.
Buy Text Links:While you should be careful not to overdo this, there are some benefits at least initially, that you could gain from purchasing text links. One of the more predominant ones is http://www.text-link-ads.com/.
Link Exchange:Another good way to generate links is to tap into your existing network. You may want to consider having a links page set up. While you are probably only offering a 0/10 link exchange, many of your partners would not mind the additional exposure on another site.

Articles:Positioning yourselves as the experts is the field is not only valuable for your brand but it can also garner some good incoming links. Writing an article on "Selecting a Widget" or "Widget Solutions: Renting vs Buying" can be very useful for generating online visibility. These articles can then get picked up through a variety of sources but should be submitted to as many content hubs as possible. Some of the better ones are:
http://www.goarticles.com
http://www.isnare.com
http://www.submityourarticle.com
http://www.articlecity.com
http://www.exchangenet.com
http://www.article-directory.com
http://www.freezinesite.com
In addition, there are article distribution services like isnare.com plus writing articles on about.com.
Blog/Forum Participation:One method that can be more time-consuming is to participate in user forums and user blogs. Essentially there are a lot of relevant sites out there to encourage user participation. When adding a post or responding to one, make an attempt to place your signature with a link to your website, preferably using some of your top keywords.
Pay-per-Click, Paid Inclusion:A good way to kick-start your new site and launch your online marketing campaign is to establish an online advertising program. Google Adwords and Yahoo! Search Marketing are two of the first places that should be considered.
Google Sitemap:Google offers an xml generated sitemap tool that let's GoogleBot (Google's spider/crawler) know when your content is updated or pages have been added. Go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemap and follow the instructions for creating one.
These are just a handful of ideas to get you started. It can be a time consuming prospect but can also be very valuable. You already know that people are out there looking for you or a company like you. Hopefully they don't find a company like you first.

Keys To Success ... Work Hard At Working SmartRoy Primm
Getting more done with less is an art,It’s a quality requiring much heart,But I must confessHow I turned failure to successWas to work hard at working smart.
I’ve heard two schools of thought when it comes to achieving maximum success in a minimum of time. The first school says to work hard, long hours. You know, nose to the grindstone and burning the midnight oil. I’ve heard many people say that is the only sure way to a achieve lasting success.
The other school of thought says to work smart - not hard. The work smart philosophy says “less is better.” Delegate, use other people’s time, money, and hands as much as you can. They say this is the quickest way to success.
I must admit they both have their benefits and their limits. Through experience I’ve discovered the best way to achieve maximum success in a minimum of time is to work hard at working smart!
Yes, working hard at working smart will give you the best of both worlds - without the limits each one has by itself.
Here are 7 quick and easy ways to help you work hard at working smart everyday. Brace yourself for some exciting changes, opportunities and discoveries as you apply them.
1. Work hard at being more adaptable to changes. Remember every change that comes your way gives you an opportunity to move ahead of those that won’t or can’t adapt to sudden change.
2. Work hard at looking for shortcuts in everything you do.Always be alert to easier, more efficient ways of doing your routine task. Can you cut out, reduce, speed-up or combine steps - without sacrificing effectiveness?
3. Work hard at planning ahead as much as possible. The best chess players always think one move ahead. You should always try to do the same. Prepare yourself mentally before you act physically. This alone will help you avoid wasting time and making costly mistakes.
4. Work hard at finding working hard at working smart role models. Always be on the look-out for people who work hard at working smart. Here’s a hint; they’ll usually be the people who get more done in less time and with fewer resources than others.
5. Work hard at learning quickly from your mistakes and the mistakes of others. You’re smart if you can learn from your mistakes, you’re intelligent if you can learn from others mistakes - but you’re wise if you can do both.
6. Work hard at finding ways to wisely multitask. What’s most important about multitasking (doing 2 or more things at once)? Is knowing when to multitask and when not to. Routine task should be multitasked. Detailed, risky, and dangerous projects should not be.
7. Work hard at keeping current on the latest technology related to your task. Allow technology to help you work harder at working smarter. Whatever your task, a gadget, software program or tool exist that can help you do it more efficiently.

Earning Residual Income

Copyright © Jeff Houdyschell
http://www.eSmartJob.com

Earning residual income, leveraging your online business efforts.

If you were to open a business today, any business, would it be one that sold a one-time item, or something that people kept coming back for? If I were to put the effort into getting a customer once, I would want to keep them as customer for as long as possible.

Earning residual income has become one of the most popular business models for Internet marketers. Why go through all the effort to get someone to buy just one widget when you can get him or her to pay for your widget and the widget sharpening service every month?

Prospective customers usually need to see your ad, product or service several times before they feel comfortable enough to buy. That means getting your ad in front as many people as possible. It’s a numbers game that must be played but why not at least put it to work for you?

For your first work at home business you may want to keep costs down and work on just producing any amount of income, while still learning the ropes. With residual income opportunities, since someone else is earning a residual income from your efforts, you should have plenty of support and training from the program you choose.

Do not go into a residual income opportunity assuming that all you need to do is sign on and pay a small monthly fee and others will do the work for you. If you go in with this mentality you will most likely fail to produce the results your looking for.

What to look for in earning residual income opportunities

Look for as much of a turn- key business system as you can find. The Internet has produced many programs, some are legitimate money making opportunities, and many are scams or schemes. So do your research before spending any money on programs that promise earning residual income.

Legitimacy is the first thing to look for with any program you are considering. Do a Google search for the program and if it shows up in online Internet marketing forums see what is being said about it. If it has a good reputation on the Internet marketing forums and is well established then you should be in good shape.

Training is another thing to look for within the program, especially if you’re new to Internet marketing. It should have a good training website and resources to promote the products and the opportunity itself. Don’t necessarily think that your sponsor will have the time to walk you through everything, as they have a business to run themselves. They should however be able to answers a few questions and point you in he right direction to get the information you need.

Earning a residual income is one of the best methods to start an online business and learn the basics of Internet marketing. One thing to remember if you are new to Internet marketing or any network marketing in general is that earning residual income online will take time and effort. Don’t expect instant results, and don’t think you can buy your way in.

One thing is certain, if you don’t start building the foundations to earning a residual income, you never will.

Optimizing Images for Search

Optimizing Images for Search

When you think of building a search engine friendly site you probably don't think of optimizing your images. Title tags and META tags probably come to mind first, but optimizing images can attract more visitors to your site and enhance their experience when they get there. Properly optimized images will decrease page load times, allow people with disabilities that use screen readers to understand the content that they can't see, and bring new visitors to your site from image searches.

There are several important factors to consider when optimizing images on your site:

File Names:
Giving pictures an appropriate filename will help search engines determine its contents, especially for image specific searches like Google's Image Search. For example, naming a picture of a butterfly "butterfly.jpg" is better than naming it "1234.jpg".

Image Size and Quality:
The fact that both image size and quality are important causes problems for site owners. Lower quality images increase loading speed, but hurt rankings in image searches and detract from the overall user experience. Higher quality images help in image search rankings and look great, but cause pages to load slowly, which can be a problem for visitors with slow connection speeds.

I've found that the best way to get the best of both worlds is to have a small, lower quality image on the page that links to a higher quality image file. That way the page can be loaded and viewed quickly, but users wanting a closer look can click the image, and image searches will have a high quality image to index (increasing your chances of ranking high). For example, on an e-commerce site, it makes sense to place small thumbnail images next to the description of an item and then link the thumbnail to a higher quality image of the item for potential buyers looking to get a closer look.

Alt Text:
All images should include short alt text that describes the image. Alt text helps search engine spiders understand what your image contains, which will help them to understand the context of your page better, and in turn pass you more targeted traffic via search and image search. Alt text also helps screen readers tell disabled visitors what the image contains, enhancing their experience on your site.

A properly formatted HTML image tag with alt text looks like this:
Descriptive alt text here

Surrounding Text and Captions:
It is important that the surrounding text and image captions are consistent with the content of the picture. According to the Google Images FAQ:

"Google analyzes the text on the page adjacent to the image, the image caption and dozens of other factors to determine the image content. Google also uses sophisticated algorithms to remove duplicates and ensure that the highest quality images are presented first in your results."

Avoid Putting Text in Images:

There are some occasions where text in an image is necessary, but in general it should be avoided at all costs. It's common practice to use images with text in headers or other important parts of the page, usually because of the background or surrounding logos. While alt text certainly helps, it's best to have the text actually readable by search engine spiders and screen readers.

A simple alternative is to create your graphic with everything but the text, write the text by itself (formatted to your liking using CSS), and then make the graphic a background image of the text (also using CSS). This makes it look like the text is part of the graphic, when in reality it is part of the HTML.

You can see an example of this by going to http://www.seo-playbook.com/image_example.php. You'll notice that both images look the same, but the second one doesn't include the "Page Title" in the image. Instead, it is part of the HTML code on the page. When Googlebot comes and visits a page like that, it will be able to read that "Page Title" is a page heading and incorporate that accordingly into their results.

Work at Home Ideas and Opportunities

How to Stay Focused on Your Home Business Goals
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/main-14521

When you are the owner of a home business, you will find hundreds of distractions that vie for your time, energy and focus.

Common distractions include: children, family, friends, neighbors, pets, phone calls, mail, household chores, video games, television, neighborhood children, visitors, and so many more.

As an owner of a home based business, you must always remember your purpose in bringing your profession home. What was your reason for wanting to own a home business? Was your goal to work from home so that you can share in the lives of your children? Was your goal to be out from under the rule of a tyrannical boss? Was your goal to have the freedom to work when it is convenient for you? Was your goal to make tons of money working for yourself?

Here's a few good tips that will help you stay focused on your home business:

TIP #1:
Whatever your reason for going out on your own, you must keep your reason in the forefront of your mind. If you forget your reason for starting your own home business, you will not be working for yourself for long. It is far too easy to let circumstance drive your activities --- and when circumstance is in the driver's seat, you are more likely to crash and burn.

TIP #2:
Remember --- your own business is a lot like a real job. Some people go to work to play, some go to socialize, and others --- most often those who are paid in a commission or tip environment --- go to work to work and to make money. When you work for yourself, your salary is directly proportional to your productivity. Therefore, wouldn't it make sense to stay focused on getting as much done in as short of a period as possible?

Go to work to work and to make money. Leave playtime and recreation for when your workday has ended.

TIP #3:
When you are dealing with family in the course of your workday, it is important to schedule your activities as much as possible. With small children, you must take time when you must, but you should also work hard to make sure you dedicate a specific number of hours to your workday.

With older children, it is much easier to tell them that you will be working between the hours of x and y. Your children and your friends must understand that certain hours of your day are devoted to the activities of your business.

TIP #4:
Don't permit your friends and extended family to run over you. Many people get the blind idea that if one works from home then they are not actually working.

Well-meaning people may try to fill your doorway to bring advice about getting a real job. Others may simply believe that if you are at home, then you are fair game for chitchat and socialization.

You must stand firm. You must make certain your friends and family understands that when you are working, then you ARE working! If they wish to socialize with you, then they need to do it during the hours that are not dedicated to your home business.

You are the only one who can stand up for you. Your friends and family will seldom be able to appreciate your dedication to your home business, unless you make the effort to make sure that they have the same respect for your business that you do.

TIP #5:
You should allot a certain portion of your day to email and to regular mail. For example, allot one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon to handling your written communications.

Unless you dedicate certain times to the handling of these communications, you will soon find yourself on the downward slope of decreased productivity.

TIP #6:
When you find yourself spending too much time doing non-productive activities, then you should seriously consider finding a third-party service provider who will assist you in those non-profitable business activities.

As an example, you might be in the mail-order business. You might believe that your time is best spent writing ad copy and setting up your advertising, but you find yourself spending far too much time taking care of your books to take care of your advertising in the manner that you should. In this event, it might make more sense to hire a bookkeeper to handle your financial records for you.

CONCLUSION:
In the end, the success of your home business is entirely and completely reliant upon you and the decisions that you make.

You had your reasons for deciding to start your own home based business. You must always keep your reasons in the forefront of your mind. You must always be able to rely upon your own self and your dedication to the success of your business.

Your friends and family might be annoyed that they cannot come visit upon their own whim, but when success comes to you and your business, they will better appreciate you for putting your foot down when necessary.

Success is within your reach, if only you can stay focused on your goals. You must decide to reach for your goals, and then, you must have the discipline necessary to reach them.

Different Methods of Online Promotion

Understanding the Different Methods of Online Promotion

Did you realize there are only three types of online promotion?... This statement may seem odd and even untrue in your mind, but I am speaking in more general terms than you might be thinking.

Let me explain.

The three types of promotion are Junk, Active and Passive promotions.

JUNK PROMOTIONS ARE MONEY PITS

Junk promotions are those that seem to produce results, but by their very nature are really only illusionary promotions.

For example, let me begin with FFA (Free For All) pages. You might find yourself subscribing to a submission program that tricks you into believing you are submitting your links to tens of thousands search engines.

According to the Open Directory website, they have only approved 1705 search engines and directories for inclusion in their database (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Searching/).

I like using the DMOZ directory as an example because submitted links are tested by human beings with integrity, for the honesty used in site description. Search Engine Watch and other search watchers tend to show fewer than these 1705 engines, primarily because a lot of the engines provide very little value.

Yes, you can submit your URL to a FFA page, but FFA’s usually only permit 100 or 1000 links on their page at any one time. So, if ten thousand people are submitting a link to an FFA page on a daily basis, then the average life of your link is between seven minutes and 144 minutes. I suspect the actual number of submitters is much higher and the results are much worse. Given that few people surf FFA pages, the chances of your submission being of any real value is practically nill!

Most of the people telling you that you can submit your site to tens of thousands of search engines are truly only submitting your site to FFA pages! Beware of the false promises.

Another junk promotion method is Safe Lists. A safe list is a mailing group that is signed up to be received by people who want to submit their own ads. Now, most safe lists have thousands of subscribers who are able to submit their ads daily or weekly. The person signed up to receive the list will receive anywhere from twenty to 140+ messages a day from the list. These messages will be received by people only interested in promoting their own thing who do not have the right motivation to open, let alone read Your Advertising. As a result, thousands of messages go out daily or weekly that will never be seen by anyone but the sender of the ad. Where is the value in that? There is none.

ACTIVE PROMOTIONS

Active promotions are the type that require you to go out on a daily basis or a weekly basis and put out your advertisements. With active promotions, you will either place your advertising or you will not sell your products or services. Your choice is simple --- work or starve.

Examples of active promotions include Pay Per Click Search Engines (PPCSE’s), Direct Email, Ezine Advertising, Solo Ezine Ads, Newsletter Publishing, Ezine Ad Swaps, Classified Ads, Auctions, Site Sponsorship and Banner Ads.

Some people are able to utilize these methods very productively, while others are destined to drop their money into the bottomless pit of failed Internet promotions.

PASSIVE PROMOTIONS

Passive promotions are those promotions that can continue to provide results for you long after you have invested the work to make them available to the Internet community.

Examples of passive promotions include: Link Exchanges, Articles, Ebooks, Content Exchanges and Writing Testimonials for others.

Let’s look at articles as a solid example of my point.

You are reading an article that I have written to promote my own business. This article is timeless and therefore could have been written five years ago and still have been as valuable as it is today.

Due to the fact that the article is timeless, it can and will be placed in newsletters/ezines and their accompanying online archives, on websites and in ebooks for many more years to come.

As a result, this article will continue to serve me well beyond the time in which I wrote it and submitted it to publishers and webmasters for public consumption and publication.

This is the best example I can give you of an excellent passive promotional method.

AVOID THE MONEY PITS

Many try and even fewer succeed to conquer the Internet and to produce their dreams of online wealth.

My hope is that you will be one of the people who conquer the challenges before you and to make a nice living while working online. It will take drive, determination, study plus trial and error, but you can make it work for you.

Please continue to educate yourself so that you can avoid the money pits - instead, strive to find the money barrels. It can be done. I am living proof.
